Founded in Switzerland in 1927. CAUNY has always been at the forefront of innovation, creating designs that anticipate the designs of current quartz and digital watches. Nearly 100 years after its founding, the company continues to work hard every day to create watches of the future while upholding the traditions and principles of watchmaking.

In 2022, Cownie launched the "Architects of Time" series, a project to create watches from freehand drawings with the world's top architects who have won the Pritzker Prize, known as the Nobel Prize of architecture.
